“E-Cloth Cleaning – Great Results, No Chemicals”

“When I clean my house every Saturday, I try to use environmentally friendly cleaning products like water, vinegar, baking soda, etc. But after being away on vacation for three weeks and having the fort held down by two young adult males, I was not so sure I could rely on my usual gentle cleaning products due to the significant build-up of dust and grease. At any rate, I was ready to bring in the big guns and let my green conscience suffer, at least for this one time. That is until I remembered my samples from the E-cloth line of cleaning products.

The E-cloth cleaning system promises that its cloth will clean all hard surfaces using just water. In fact, it promises to clean better than any other cleaning cloth or fabric, while at the same time reducing use of household chemicals by up to 90 percent. The secret is in the make of the cloth, a unique construction of millions of tiny “clever” fibers, which absorb dirt rather than just moving it and chemicals around on a surface, often leaving a residue that merely attracts more dirt. With the hope that the E-cloth would live up to its advertised claims, I began the task of cleaning four weeks’ worth of dust, dirt and grease.

I tested the general-purpose cloth first on a glass and wood shelving unit. Not only was there a month’s accumulation of dust, but also the shelves have some plants on them, which leave a sticky residue behind. To begin with, I wiped the shelf with the cloth dry and found that the dust lifted easily and actually stayed lifted. Often when I use my feather duster it seems as if I’m just moving the dust around back into the air. Not so with the E-cloth. I then dampened the same cloth and wiped the areas covered with plant sap residue. I was pleasantly surprised. The shelves came completely clean, dust and streak free, with no soap, no chemicals and best of all, very little effort. The rest of the dining, living and bedroom furniture and mirrors all received the same treatment, with the same pleasing results. I finished this first wave of Operation Post Vacation Clean Up in record time, did not have to sacrifice any green principles; and because these cloths are fully washable and can, therefore, last for several years, I saved money too. It’s a sure bet that E-cloth will now be included in my cleaning products cupboard.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the E-cloth® Cleaning System?
A range of high quality micro fibre cleaning cloths that clean ALL hard surfaces. The cloths neither contain nor use chemicals.

How do E-cloths work?
The cloths are made of millions of tiny clever fibres that trap and absorb minute particles of dust and dirt. When water is introduced to the cloths, they will clean grease from surfaces without smearing.

How do I use them?
The general-purpose cloth may be used dry for dusting, and dampened with water for all other cleaning. Use the cloth folded so that as much surface area as possible comes into contact with the surface to be cleaned. The glass cloth – spray water onto the surface and wipe.

Where can I use the E-cloths?
The cloths may be used for all general cleaning on all surfaces. They are exceptionally good on stainless steel, glass, chrome and plastics. Ex: appliances, car, TV etc.

How long will E-Cloths last?
As long as the maintenance instructions are followed, the products will last for years.

Why do manufacturers recommend their customers to use the E-cloth to clean their appliances?
The E-Cloth is a high quality, chemical free cleaning product that will clean and maintain all appliance surfaces in an easy and efficient manner.

Can the products be used alongside other chemical products?
If there is a build up of grease or other dirt, it may be necessary to only initially clean this area with a chemical. It will then be easy to maintain the surface using just E-Cloths and water.

How to use the E-cloth® Cleaning System

All our products in the E-cloth® range can be used in the same way – with just water. There is no impregnation in any of our products and you do not need to use any chemicals when using our system. The E-Cloth® can be used in a variety of ways to maximize their effectiveness:

1. Wet: start wet for cleaning e.g. the car or the bath. Finish off damp.
2. Damp: for all other surfaces – wet the cloth completely, wring out all excess water, fold and wipe all surfaces clean.
3. Dry: for dusting only – drag the folded cloth across the surface. Dust is magnetized to the cloth.

How to maintain your E-Cloths

  1. When dirty, our products can be washed at least 300 times. Either put them in a wash bag with your normal washing, or alternatively, boil them on the hob.
  2. In order for the cloths to perform correctly, they need to be kept clean with regular washing. They should be hot, boil washed at 90° in order to kill bacteria. NB. Initial washes should be at 60°.
  3. Always wash the cloths separately from other items to avoid adding fluff to the cloth.
  4. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. The fabric softener removes the static effect for dry use and bleach breaks down the micro fibers.
  5. Either tumble dry or hang dry. If too much washing powder is used, the fibers become blocked and the performance of the cloth is reduced. Wash the cloth a few times without any washing powder to remove the excess soap.
